Thomas Wilson Author PhotoTom Wilson started his consulting and fundraising career more than a quarter-century ago as a campaign turnaround consultant. Building successful campaigns from inception, reinvigorating stalled initiatives and board/staff training are just a few of his talents.

Past positions include: president, Thomas D. Wilson & Associates, vice president of development at the Oregon Graduate Institute of Science & Technology (Portland); vice president for development at the Phoenix Symphony (Arizona); director of corporate and foundation development at Field Museum of Natural History (Chicago), and general manager and assistant conductor of the Lake Forest Symphony (Illinois). He began his fundraising career as an endowment campaign consultant for the Ravinia Festival (summer home of the Chicago Symphony) in Highland Park, Illinois.

Tom trained as a musician (clarinet, saxophone, and conducting) and educator. He founded a youth orchestra in Illinois, taught high school orchestra, and directed his churches English handbell choir. His hobbies include sailing his 35’ sloop Ihlabela on the Oregon Coast with his wife Sue.
